2 Impaired Drivers Have Vehicles Impounded

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into two separate impaired driving investigation over the weekend.
On May 9, 2025, at approximately 6:38 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint, detailing a single motor vehicle swerving all over the road and almost causing a head on collision on 7A Highway. Officers attended the registered owners residence and located the driver. Through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences.
Lara SHCHERBAN, 57-year-old of Cavan-Monaghan Township, was charged with:
Operation while Impaired Blood Alcohol concentration (80 plus)
On May 10, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic complaint, detailing a single motor vehicle swerving all over the road and almost causing collisions on County Road 48. Officers located the vehicle and through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving offences.
Connor COULTER, 21-year-old of Woodville, was charged with
Operation while Impaired Blood Alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Operation while impaired alcohol and drugs
Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance Cocaine
Novice Drive B.A.C. above zero
Both are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date and both received a 90 day licence suspension their vehicles have been impounded for 7 days.
If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, or come up with another plan that takes impaired driving out of the picture.
