41 Year Old From Fergus Arrested

(CENTRE WELLINGTON TWP, ON) On May 9, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers from the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program on Sideroad 19 at Beatty Line in Fergus.
During the operation, officers observed a vehicle make a U-turn as it approached the RIDE check. Police stopped the vehicle a short distance away.
As a result of the investigation, Joaquim DASILVA 41-year-old of Fergus, was charged with:
Operation While Impaired blood alcohol concentration 80 plus contrary to the Criminal Code
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario court of justice Guelph, on May 20, 2025.
