Passed Out Behind Wheel - CUNNINGHAM

(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - On June 27, 2020 at 2:47 a.m. Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) located a black car stopped on Allen Street in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

The vehicle was running and the lights were on. The driver appeared to be sleeping or passed out behind the wheel. After numerous attempts to get the drivers attention, they finally woke up and spoke with the Officers.

The driver was displaying obvious signs of impairment and they were arrested for impaired driving by drug and transported to the Wiarton detachment.

A Drug Recognition Expert completed an evaluation with this driver and they failed.

As a result of this investigation, Grey Bruce OPP have charged Tyler CUNNINGHAM, 23 years-of-age from Georgian Bluffs, with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol and drugs, section 320.14(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada.

The accused was released on an Undertaking and is required to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 24, 2020.
