(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) - On June 17, 2019, at approximately 12:00 p.m. an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer stopped a driver of red pickup truck on Gowrie Street North in the Town of Fergus for a documents check. While speaking with the driver, officers formed the opinion that the driver was impaired by alcohol. A Roadside Screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and brought to a local OPP operations centre for further testing.

As a result of the investigation Ryan Calvin McDONALD, 38-years-old of Guelph, has been charged with Suspended Driving and Impaired Operation 80 Plus (mg of alcohol per 100mL of blood). A 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute. The Accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on July 26, 2019.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.
