More Impaired Drivers

(Orillia, ON) The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have three individuals with impaired driving related offences.
On April 21, 2024, at about 1:24 a.m., an Orillia OPP officer was conducting proactive traffic enforcement in the area of Highway 11 and Line 14 in Oro-Medonte Township. A vehicle was recorded travelling 60 km/hr over the posted speed limit. As a result the vehicle was pulled over and the driver spoken to. The driver claimed not to have consumed any alcohol however as a result of the investigation it was determined he was impaired by alcohol and arrested.
As a result, Olola Gamaliel, 29-years-old, from North Bay has been charged with:
Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs.

On April 21, 2024, at about 3:27 a.m., an Orillia OPP officer while conducting proactive traffic enforcement in the area of Highway 12 in Ramara Township pulled a vehicle over as part of a Highway Traffic Act investigation. It was determined the driver was impaired by alcohol and subsequently arrested.
As a result, Joseph Perrault, 32-years-old, from Seagrave has been charged with:
Operation while impaired-alcohol and drugs.
On April 23, 2024, at about 7:47 p.m., Orillia OPP were dispatched to a traffic complaint. It was reported that an individual who had been consuming alcohol was operating a vehicle. Responding officers patrolled the area and were soon alerted that the individual had returned to a residence. Police attended the residence in question and spoke to the driver. During the investigation it was determined that the individual was impaired by alcohol and confirmed to have been operating a vehicle just prior. This individual was then arrested.
As a result, Cody Mills, 33-years-old, from Orillia has been charged with:
Operation while impaired-blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
All persons in these unrelated investigations are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Orillia, to answer to the charges at a later date in May 2024. As a result of these charges each of their drivers licences has been suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for a period of 7 days.
